PRINCIPAL AND DESIGN ARCHITECT
Tony Legge

This apartment occupies the western wing of a 1970s residential tower, with views spanning northeast to Manly, west to the Harbour Bridge and city skyline, and southeast over Rushcutters Bay to Paddington.
The original layout placed the bedrooms along the western façade, with the living areas facing north. Legge & Legge Architects reorganised the apartment to locate bedrooms and bathrooms along the southern side, allowing the kitchen, living and dining spaces to take advantage of uninterrupted city and harbour views.
The renovation required careful coordination around fixed riser locations and recently upgraded external glazing. A series of concealed doors allows the living areas to remain visually and acoustically separate from the private zones, without compromising spatial flow.
The design prioritises outlook and liveability. Each bedroom retains a distinct view, and the primary ensuite introduces a moment of unexpected connection to the cityscape - offering a view from the shower across the harbour.
